ADA’s 2009 FNCE a Success!

45842Londa and Angela just returned from FNCE in Denver, CO. They got to meet many attendees and enjoy the remnants of two 80 degree days!

Our booth #418 contained a colorful mix of posters, PowerPoints, bulletin board kits, DVDs, 5 minute activity books, and tablets.

We featured a few new posters: Great Apps, Periodic Table of Snacks, and American Gothic: Farm to Fork, Eat Local and the holiday cards. We will have another holiday card design coming soon (think potato polar bears ice fishing…).

Angela & Londa’s favorite goodie they picked up in the expo hall were the NEW mini Coke cans! Luckily Londa’s didn’t explode in her suitcase on the way home!

See the short video they made while exhibiting.

Washington State Hosts Public Health Conference

Perfect weather, beautiful Washington State and a great opportunity to showcase Learning Zone’s many new products at the Joint Conference on Health in Yakima!

The conference was supported by the Washington State Public Health Association, the Washington State Department of Health and several other organizations. Health professionals stayed focused on the important education sessions throughout the two day conference on October 5-6. Our colorful hand washing bulletin board and hand washing posters drew a lot of attention. Thank you to those who attended for stopping by the Learning ZoneXpress table to say hello to Amy.

Snowing in Rochester, MN at SHRM

snowflakeWe also had Angela exhibit at the Minnesota SHRM conference  on Oct. 12 in Rochester, Minnesota – home of the Mayo Clinic. It’s been snowing the past few days here - and Monday of the conference was no different!

We were exhibiting our adult nutrition education products for company worksite wellness programs. See a short clip of our Learning ZoneXpress booth at SHRM:

Hello Sunny California!

swc09Angela was fired up when she returned from exhibiting at the CSBA’s School Wellness Conference in Anaheim, CA Oct. 6-7. She received great feedback on the 5 Minute Activitieshand washing products, and the Portion Distortion Banner.

SNA’s Annual Nutrition Conference

Londa and I loved Vegas!

This year at the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference (ANC) we met with industry partners to discuss the Extreme Cafeteria Makeover that’s currently underway. More updates will be available on the blog as Londa is heading down to film the progress of the renovation at Glennville-Emmons in Minnesota.

The exhibit hall was packed with attendees! Those who made it to our booth had the opportunity to see our new products – including Foodscapes Decals and bulletin board kits – and picked up a free breakfast poster and Foodscapes postcards.

Update from the FCCLA National Conference

oprylandThe gals who are working the LZE booth at the FCCLA conference in Nashville are having a blast! They featured the 5 Minute Activities today and received great feedback.

Susan Turgeson’s food science presentation this morning went wonderfully. She offered attendees two additional lessons that aren’t included in her Successful Food Science Lesson Plans. You can download and use them in your classroom: Lab Rubric and Sensory Evaluation.

So far the gals haven’t gotten lost at the huge Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center – the location of the conference – but the conference has only just begun! Yee-ha!
