SNA’s Annual Nutrition Conference

Londa and I loved Vegas!

This year at the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference (ANC) we met with industry partners to discuss the Extreme Cafeteria Makeover that’s currently underway. More updates will be available on the blog as Londa is heading down to film the progress of the renovation at Glennville-Emmons in Minnesota.

The exhibit hall was packed with attendees! Those who made it to our booth had the opportunity to see our new products – including Foodscapes Decals and bulletin board kits – and picked up a free breakfast poster and Foodscapes postcards.

Update from the FCCLA National Conference

oprylandThe gals who are working the LZE booth at the FCCLA conference in Nashville are having a blast! They featured the 5 Minute Activities today and received great feedback.

Susan Turgeson’s food science presentation this morning went wonderfully. She offered attendees two additional lessons that aren’t included in her Successful Food Science Lesson Plans. You can download and use them in your classroom: Lab Rubric and Sensory Evaluation.

So far the gals haven’t gotten lost at the huge Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center – the location of the conference – but the conference has only just begun! Yee-ha!

FCCLA National Leadership Conference

fccla-logoWe are sending three awesome reps to the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN July 12-16.

Be sure to stop by the Learning ZoneXpress booth and say hello to Angela, Jane, and Susan. Make sure to catch Susan Turgeson’s presentation on Food Science during the conference.

Free PowerPoint from our AAFCS Presentation

The PowerPoint presentation that Susan Turgeson presented during the AAFCS conference was a hit! It’s titled, “Become a FACS ‘Greenie’ Advocate: What You Need to Know.”

We had several requests for the presentation. If you’d like the PowerPoint e-mailed to you, please send Angela a message: angela@learningzonexpress.com.

Here is the Take Action Letter Writing Campaign PDF from Susan’s presentation. Print off as many as you’d like.

Below are some pictures from the conference.

Learning ZoneXpress Travel Update

planeJust a quick LZE travel schedule update:

Angela returned from the Childhood Obesity Conference in Los Angeles with lots of energy. She was excited to see her friend Kathy from FlagHouse exhibiting at the conference and meet many LZE customers. A picture of her and the booth is coming soon.

Just yesterday Londa returned from the North Carolina School Nutrition Association (NC SNA) conference. She received great feedback about our bulletin boards and the new Barack Obama and Abe Lincoln Eat Smart Posters! Londa was very impressed with the level of professionalism and commitment shown by the people who stopped by her booth.

Next week, Londa and I will be exhibiting at the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference. We are looking forward to sharing new product releases and an update on the Extreme Cafeteria Makeover contest winner. See you in Vegas!
